School Re-Opening Update

Good morning,

I write this morning with great news – over the past three weeks Morrow County had less than 30 new Covid cases, which included  ONLY five cases last week.  For Morrow County School District this means we will be able to open using the metrics for low population density counties.  This includes counties with a population density of less than six people per square mile as stated by the Oregon Department of Education.  To review the metrics, please follow this link (page 3):

Each school will have a slightly different schedule and offerings for their students so by the end of the day they will send out specific information about school starting in the hybrid instructional model.  All schools will reopen in this model on Wednesday, October 28th.

Morrow County School District appreciates all of the effort made by everyone to lower the Covid 19 numbers so that we are able to open the schools again for students.  As a reminder, if parents want to continue having school at home using the Comprehensive Distance Learning model, we will be able to do that for a period of time.  Once we are fully up and running with our Hybrid model (full days), we will work toward transitioning students that want virtual learning to our online program.
