Join us in welcoming Blaine Gibbs to Heppner Jr/Sr High School for the 2023-24 school year! Blaine will be teaching SPED classes. He holds a degree in Psychology from Boise State University. Originally from Redmond, his hobbies include snowboarding, frisbee golf, and any outdoor activity that gets him moving. He has four younger brothers, which led him to work in education. With a background as an Instructional Assistant in Cascade Locks, he's eager to connect with a new community and embrace a change of pace from city living. Something he’d like to try in the future is coaching for personal and professional development. ¡Únase a nosotros para darle la bienvenida a Blaine Gibbs a la escuela secundaria Heppner Jr/Sr para el año escolar 2023-24! Blaine enseñará clases SPED. Tiene una licenciatura en Psicología de la Universidad Estatal de Boise. Tiene cuatro hermanos menores, lo que lo llevó a trabajar en educación. Let’s say hello to Kaitlynn Evans, who is joining Heppner Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year! Kaitlynn graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She grew up in Heppner and says enjoys hunting and heavy metal concerts (not at the same time 😆). Kaitlynn's favorite dish is her mom's enchilada casserole. Her experience in the mental health field led her to find her calling to work with youth. This year, Kaitlynn is excited to cultivate a sense of family within her Heppner classroom and MCSD, embrace personal growth, and build a home for her family. She's looking forward to forming strong connections and providing a supportive environment. Kaitlynn would like to learn more about home design and possibly how to make pottery this year! She says she is an open book, ready to share her knowledge and experiences. ¡Saludemos a Kaitlynn Evans, quien se unirá a la Escuela Primaria Heppner para el año escolar 2023-24! Kaitlynn se graduó de Liberty University con una Licenciatura en Psicología. Creció en Heppner y dice que le gusta la caza y los conciertos de heavy metal (no al mismo tiempo). El plato favorito de Kaitlynn es la cazuela de enchiladas de su madre. Su experiencia en el campo de la salud mental la ha llevado a encontrar su vocación para trabajar con jóvenes. Este año, Kaitlynn está emocionada de cultivar un sentido de familia dentro de su salón de clases de Heppner y MCSD, abrazar el crecimiento personal y construir un hogar para su familia. MCSD will be closed on September 4th in observance of Labor Day. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is observed on the 1st Monday in September. Please join us in welcoming Jill Janicek to Heppner Elementary! Jill will be teaching Third Grade for the 2023-24 school year. She brings with her a Bachelor's degree from Boise State University and hails from New Plymouth, Idaho. Jill loves outdoor adventures, spending time in nature, playing the piano, and even snorkeling in Hawaii when possible. Her drink of choice is unsweetened iced, and she enjoys teriyaki salmon. With an impressive 30 years of teaching experience, including all K-8 grades, Jill's journey has led her to Heppner, and she's excited to be part of the community. She's thrilled to engage with her students, build connections, and contribute to their growth. Jill's unique interests include side-by-side adventures and learning to play her Imagine Dragons music book on the piano, all while nurturing her sense of wonder. ¡Únase a nosotros para darle la bienvenida a Jill Janicek a la escuela primaria Heppner! New this year! Parents will be able to pay ASB and other fees through the parent portal - select "school store" to see what items are currently available for your student's building. ¡Nuevo este año! The new school year is fast approaching! We have a new registration system and will be sending online registration instructions to all existing families through email the second week in August. Families new to the district will need to go into the building to start the registration process. ¡El nuevo año escolar se acerca rápidamente!
