MCSD will be closed on September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is observed on the 1st Monday in September. August Jumpstart begins next week! Buildings will start posting bus schedules this Thursday. Summer in Oregon just got more awesome thanks to Summer EBT! Summer EBT’s mission is to help get healthy meals to kids throughout the summer break from school. Eligible school-aged children will each get $120 for groceries this summer, and the program will renew each year. If your household has an EBT card (Oregon Trail Card), your funds will be added to that card this summer. Otherwise, you’ll get a new card in the mail after you’ve been determined eligible. Let’s have a happy, healthy, and “full” summer! ¡El verano en Oregon se ha vuelto más increíble gracias al EBT de Verano! Our Community Bond Advisory Committee has been hard at work touring each school in all three communities and reviewing the facilities assessments as part of the bond development process. Some of our 3rd graders enjoying last week's field trip to the Tamástslikt Cultural Center and the Heritage Station Museum 🚂🏹 Students arrived at Tamástslikt and were separated into two groups. Group One started outside and were taught how to use an atlatl, or spear thrower. Group 2 stayed inside to tour the indoor exhibits, and learn about local tribes. The groups switched activities before taking a lunch break at Pioneer Park. After lunch, the next stop was the Heritage Station Museum to dive deeper into Oregon's rich history. Everyone had a blast!

Originally established in recognition of President George Washington, Presidents' Day is now viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present. Due to continued poor weather and road conditions MCSD will be closed Thursday January 18, 2024. All sports pracitces and activities are also canceled.
